Le Bon Truc Trio joined together ten years ago to play traditional French dance and folk music from Bretagne, Alsace, Auvergne, and other places. The band is Steve Gruverman, clarinets, sax, and flute; Barb Truex, dulcimer, banjo, and tenor guitar; and Gary Chapin, accordions. Over the decade, they’ve played on street corners, in cafes, at dance festivals, in barns, in an orchard, and in a surprising number of churches. Their goal is to bring a little bit of uncomplicated rhythmic and melodic happiness with them wherever they go.
Our music is fun to listen to and fun to dance to. Here’s a video of us rehearsing a waltz.
